A Very Silverspawn Shipping Christmas (or something like that.)

Silver entered the mess hall at the Rocket HQ,
With an expression resembling a frown knocked askew
It wasn’t quite smiley, it was more of a smirk
As he proudly observed from afar his fine work

Persian, though not usually one to betray
Let his master’s son turn him into a holiday display
With bells on his tail and a jaunty red cap
It was hard to believe Persian was the same cat

Sneasel sported green mittens to match
The pin which adorned Silver’s shirt collar — the Earth Badge!
With a sprig of fake holly tucked behind one ear
The wintery Pokemon joined the holiday cheer

One musn’t forget Silver’s eye for detail
Which is what picking clothes out would normally entail
On the topic of fashion, his thoughts turn to Blue
And Gold, Crystal, Green, Red, and Yellow too

Were they eating right? Did they get enough sleep?
Were they training themselves in the rain, snow, or sleet?
Christmas is the time for family and friends
He was sure soon enough he’d see them again

Now was the time to rekindle his love
For a special lady, who sews his name into gloves
Ariana, his mother, had not yet arrived
So his stomach was filled with dancing Beautifly

Little did he know, what with minor amnesia
The boss and his “wife” had one extra reason
To celebrate this Eve, unlike so many long-past
The Team Rocket Heir had come home at last!

My muse is running out of gloves to lose, you guys, STAHP

Thank you all for cheering me up today. I’ll try to get at least one reply in tonight, but if not, I’ll just do ‘em all tomorrow. c:

Headcanon: Silver is an awkward turtle.

Aside from being socially awkward, Silver is also clumsy and forgetful.

He’s always losing his gloves, despite his preference for stealth. It’s gotten him into sticky situations more than once. Mistakes cause him to panic, which often leads to more mistakes.

He is too proud to let this side of him show around people he’s familiar with, and he works very hard to seem like he isn’t as awkward as he truly is. This is possibly the reason why his clumsiness only kicks him in the rear when he’s working alone.

Siebold couldn’t help the soft sigh from the breath he was holding. It wasn’t as if he had thought there would have been adverse reactions to that card, but to have such a sincere answer was pleasant. He listened with a quirk of the brows to show his interest and amusement with the Sneasel’s confidence.

"It does and doesn’t count." He took the card back with a small bow of the head in thanks, "Though the bond you seem to share with your little one there is enough." There was a soft chuckle as he took out the deck again and shuffled in the lone card back with it’s brothers.

"I myself, shameful enough for me to say this, " He tipped his head back a bit to let the embarrassment slide off his features, "I still have a Wailord stuffed animal that hangs out with my pillows. He’s been my night time companion since my pokemon have always been… pointed." The color quickly drained from his face as he remembered the time his Binacle tried to sleep beside him and he’d gaffed himself on its rocky ledge. "It must be pleasant though to have your Pokemon curled up beside you." His grey eyes peered down at the pair.

Silver’s cheeks pinked. ”Y-yeah.”

Sneasel puffed out his chest with pride. This fair haired fellow they’d just met was already receiving high marks for acknowledging his superior ability to do useful things. He wiggled his clawed toes gleefully. It wasn’t often that a stranger paid him a compliment, even if it wasn’t really directed at him.

Silver chuckled at his Pokemon’s antics.

"So your Pokemon are pointy?" the redhead asked, one eyebrow raised.

[ Silver and Ruby ]

red-red-ruby:

Ruby gasped loudly and he dug his sharp nails into Silver’s hands, trying to pry his hands away from his unwrinkled clothes. This guy wasn’t too bad only seconds ago, but he completely changed. Now, he had the audacity to touch him without even asking. The bastard.

"I know because I’ve lived here!" he snapped and he smacked repeatedly on Silver’s hands. "Arceus! Don’t you DARE threaten my face otherwise I’ll take that beautiful red hair and knot it all up." he couldn’t help when he inched a little closer so their noses were practically touching. "Lots of people tell stories, it’s over the internet, now back off or else."

Silver snatched his hands away from the boy as though he’d been burned, his eyes wide.

"Wh-what did you say?!" he yelped.

He was almost certain this brat had called his red hair ‘beautiful’ but it was a bit jarring in the midst of what almost became a fist fight. If anything, he probably used the compliment to turn the tide in his favor. How he’d managed to figure out that Silver didn’t take well to niceties was a bit—

Wait a second.

He fished in his pockets for a moment, and pulled out his PokeDex. He held it up for Ruby to see. Everything had been so chaotic the last time they’d seen each other that Silver had almost forgotten the PokeDex holders from Hoenn.

"We’ve met before. At the Battle Frontier." he explained, his cheeks burning scarlet. "Now will you quit shouting? We’re drawing a crowd."

Return to the Lake - Open

queenofrocket:

The two Rocket members went deeper into the base. Down the halls they went, passing by the door that lead to the old generator. Its rubble probably served as a nest site for wild pokemon that had managed to dig their way into the base. There was no reason to bother with that room, so they walked on.

"A red Gyarados?" Asked the grunt. "That must have been quite the site."

"I’m sure it was. I never got the chance to see it for myself though."

Nyx stopped at the next set of stairs and turned around. A movement behind them caught her eye. Was something else there? She waited until the two humans started going down the stairs before she back tracked. She hid around a corner in the hallway, and waited to see if whoever was following them would cross her path.

By now Silver had actually gotten ahead of the Rocket admin and her flunkie, so he decided to lie in wait a short distance from one of the main rooms.

Not only was this area close to their escape route, but it was wide enough to move quickly if they were seen. As soon as they made it up the stairs Silver, too, could get a clear visual, which would help him decide whether to fight them or flee. It would be a split-second decision, admittedly, but it was better than wasting time playing cat-and-mouse with a potential threat.

Silver was already thinking of a Plan B when Sneasel finally caught up. The weasel-like Pokemon signaled by holding his claws at just the right angle to catch the light of the moon filtering in through the gap in the eaves above them.

One glint was “safe,” so Silver didn’t have to worry. He might even be able to get away with observing for a little longer.

He shifted his weight a bit and climbed higher into the tangled mess of fallen beams and concrete rubble, carefully tucking himself away into a dark corner a little to the left of the mouth of the staircase.

A sharp pain in his palm suddenly made him hiss and snatch his hand away. He realized then, almost panicked, that he’d somehow managed to lose one of his gloves.

Again!? his mind screamed. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to wear gloves at all!

His eyes scanned the room for any sign of the missing article. As bad luck would have it, the leather glove lay right in the middle of the floor, illuminated by a shaft of pale moonlight. It was like he was begging to be discovered.

Sneasel seemed to have noticed it too, because when Silver looked up in his direction, he met his partner’s gaze. Sneasel was already on the move, quietly, with claws outstretched. He was moments away from retrieving the glove and then—

Footsteps.

Silver bit down on his bare knuckle to keep himself from completely giving them away with an anguished cry. Sneasel darted back into the shadows again, and there he waited.

Silver’s mind raced. Hopefully, they wouldn’t connect the glove to an intruder. Maybe they were just as brainless as most of the grunts he’d already made short work of. Maybe they wouldn’t even notice the glove.

He squeezed his eyes shut, as if it would make him disappear, just as the admin and grunt reached the top of the stairs. He could hear their voices clearly now.

"A red Gyarados? That must have been quite the site."

"I’m sure it was. I never got the chance to see it for myself though."

Silver opened his eyes, if only because he was surprised by the conversation. Did they mean the very same Red Gyarados that accompanied him, or could there have been another? Was that the reason for their visit to the abandoned hideout?

Meanwhile, Sneasel craned his neck over the side of the fallen wooden beam he was perched upon. He didn’t want to make it obvious that he had a trainer, even if he smelled vaguely like a human, because he was almost certain that Weavile had spotted him. If he could direct her attention away from Silver, at least he could get away once she was distracted.

But something about her was too intriguing for him to leave alone. Perhaps that was why he lost his balance and landed lightly on his feet right in front of her, his eyes wide with surprise, as though he hadn’t realized he’d slipped until he hit the ground.

rhapsodyofarogue started following you

Silver didn’t turn to look behind him, but he did pause in his stride for only a moment to address the quiet air around him, “I know you’re there.” he said. “And it’s not like you need to hide anymore.”

They’d taken care of their mission ages ago, but it seemed his old friend still enjoyed sneaking around. Perhaps that’s where he picked it up from.

"C’mon, Blue-sis." he sighed, tapping one foot. "We don’t have all day."

ooc;

I’m so sorry for my inactivity lately, guys. I’ll be back after Christmas for sure, I just really need to spend this time with my family. If things become a little less chaotic, I’ll probably pop online Christmas Eve to celebrate Silver’s birthday (even though the poor sap doesn’t know it himself.)

At the very least, I figured I ought to sign in real quick to let everybody know I’m okay.

I’ve fully recovered from having my wisdom teeth out, and my two sick relatives have finally been taken care of properly. We had a minor scare when we thought we needed to leave for Vegas at the last second to sit at someone’s death-bed, but their condition’s stable now. My other relative got to go home, finally, and they assigned her a helper.

I’ve been keeping track of who I owe replies/threads to, but you’re all welcome to leave something in my inbox for me to get to later on.

Thank you so much for being patient with me all this time. :)

Happy holidays!
Silver

EDIT:

I came back early because I heard we got PokeSpe Blue! Talk about an incentive to quit being a wuss and get my arse back online, eh?

{-Siebold shuffled through the cards he kept in the hidden pocket of his apron in an effort to help with his social anxiety. He looked to the person and held out the card to them. It wasn’t an ideal thing to do since he probably should have read it allowed but…-}

Silver blinked, holding the card gingerly in his gloved hands. Stormy eyes scanned the letters on faded yellow paper as the color rose in his cheeks.
"I—" he stammered, his mouth suddenly dry. He licked his lips nervously and tried again. "I don’t have any stuffed toys, but Sneasel and I are very close so…"The Pokemon in question was currently perched on Silver’s shoulders, wide eyes curious and trained on the flashcard in his trainer’s hands, despite his inability to read. It seemed interesting enough.
When Silver said his name, his mouth curled up at the corners in the closest expression he had to a cheery grin. They were very close! Closer than brothers! And Sneasel was very proud of this fact.
Silver struggled to recover from his flustered state. Sneasel shifting his weight slightly seemed to reassure him somewhat and he cleared his throat.
"Err, that is… Sneasel and I have been together for as long as either of us can recall, so it’s sort of normal for him to curl up next to me when it’s time to go to sleep." A pause. "I don’t think Sneasel counts as a stuffed animal, though, considering the obvious. On the other hand, I’d say having a Pokemon with you when you’re in such a vulnerable state is actually really nice…"
Silver offered up a small smile and handed the card back to the blonde stranger. “What about you?”
